Proposed Frost Ordinance Informational Meeting

November 16, 2010, 11:30 - 1:30pm
Location: Mary Agatha Furth Center- Ballroom, 8400 Old Redwood Hwy, Windsor

Sponsored by: Sonoma County Winegrape Commission

Attn: Russian River Watershed Growers:

Frost Ordinance proposal will be submitted to the Board of Supervisors, on Tuesday, November 9.   This proposed ordinance is in response to the State Water Resources Control Board proposed regulatory action regarding frost protection in the Russian River Watershed and will affect Russian River Watershed growers who frost protect with wind, heaters, or water only.

Please join us for a Q&A on the proposed frost ordinance. Doug McIlroy will provide an overview of how we got to this point and will answer your questions about the ordinance. It was developed with input from growers in the Russian River Watershed in response to the regulations proposed by the State Water Resources Control Board that required significant grower expense to monitor water use and impacts on stream flows and stage. The monitoring requirements proposed for all wells in the watershed would cost $8000+/pump to install.

Please RSVP online at  www.sonomawinegrape.org/frostprotection-nov2010 to establish a headcount for lunch.
