Please join us for the 13th annual Sonoma County Pruning Championship on February 24, at 10am with registration check-in starting at 9:45am. The event is held at SRJC Shone Farm at 6225 Eastside Road, Forestville, CA 95436

The top two pruners from each of five major Sonoma County winegrape regions will compete in the Championship. The event is a partnership with the SRJC Ag and Natural Resources Department. Industry sponsors also help to make this event possible and free of charge to the contestants and attendees.

The ten contestants are judged for speed and quality of work by a team of industry professionals. The Championship is a lively, action-packed competition with the ten top pruners cheered on to victory by family, friends and co-workers.

As the judges carefully inspect and rate the ten contestants,  Winemaker and Vineyard Manager teams compete for Appellation Pruning Superiority as judged by the spectators and official judges. The application to participate is attached below.  A maximum of three teams per appelletion are permitted.

Awards will then be presented, followed by a complimentary lunch. Wine will be available at this time for a nominal fee with all proceeds going to the Employee Development Program.
